Hotkey for navigating to the next/previous issue in the milestone #178843

Hi @harold 👋 That’s a great observation — currently, GitHub doesn’t have a built-in way to navigate directly to the next or previous issue within a milestone. The ordering exists (based on sorting by issue number or custom order), but there’s no hotkey or navigation control for stepping through them. Workarounds you can try: Use the milestone view (/milestone/) to see all issues, then open them in separate tabs to switch between them. Use browser extensions or custom scripts (like a userscript or Tampermonkey script) to add “Next / Previous Issue” buttons based on the milestone list. Keyboard shortcuts like j and k already let you move between issues in lists, but not between open issue pages — so your idea would extend GitHub’s existing keyboard nav nicely. Suggestion for GitHub: It doesn’t exist yet, but it’s definitely a smart and productivity-oriented feature worth considering for the Issues roadmap. |

It seems from the discussion here that the concesus may be that this is a good and reasonable feature request. Does anyone know the next steps down that path? Should I post the same somewhere else? Thank you! 🙇 |

Hi! Thanks for github and especially for the issue tracking features, which we use every day with big smiles on our faces.
It occurred to me today that there is leverage in the fact that issues in a milestone are ordered.
It would be nice to be able to navigate from one issue to the 'next (or previous) issue in the milestone'.
A button would be great, but a hotkey would be even better.
Does such a thing already exist (and I just missed it)?
Thanks again for your time and consideration 🙇
