Hey @Karthi6559 — you cannot transfer Student benefits from one account to another. That is the short answer.

What you tried

You removed the email from Account B and added it to Account A. That does not move the benefits. The benefits stay locked to Account B forever.

Why this happens

GitHub ties Student benefits to the account that applied, not the email address. Unlinking the email does nothing. The system still sees that email as "already used" on Account B .

What you can do now

Option 1 — Use Account B as your main account

Keep the benefits on Account B. Add your old Account A email to Account B, then rename Account B to whatever username you want. You basically make Account B your primary and let Account A go .

Option 2 — Contact Support to revoke benefits from Account B

Open a ticket here: https://support.github.com/contact/education

Tell them: "I want to revoke Student benefits from Account B so I can reapply on Account A."

Once they revoke it, you can reapply on Account A with your school email.

Bottom line

You cannot move benefits yourself. Either keep Account B as your main account, or ask Support to reset everything so Account A can apply fresh.

Hey, unfortunately there's no direct way to "transfer" GitHub Education benefits between accounts — the perks are tied to the account that got verified, not to your email address.
So just moving the email over won't carry the benefits with it.
What you'd need to do is re-apply for GitHub Education on Account A:

• Make sure Account A has your school/university email attached to it
• Head over to education.github.com and apply again with Account A
• You'll need to verify your student/teacher status again (student ID, enrollment letter, etc.)

The review usually takes a few days. Once approved, the benefits activate on Account A directly.
One thing to keep in mind — GitHub's terms only allow one account per person, so if you're maintaining both Account A and B long-term that could be an issue. Might be worth consolidating everything into whichever account you want to keep going forward.
