Your viewers see the damage first. Your monitoring catches up too late. Your encoder has known about it all along.  That is the core problem that a newly published SVTA specification is designed to solve: SVTA2128 "Transmission of Media Quality Assessment (MQA) Data" enables encoder-generated quality scores to travel through the entire live streaming delivery chain. The result of the joint work by Will Law of Akamai Technologies, Alexander Leschinsky of G&L Systemhaus, Brenton Ough of Touchstream and Adrian Roe of id3as in the SVTA QoE Working Group.

We are incredibly proud of this award, which Sally Chalk and Alexander Leschinsky were able to accept at NAB Show yesterday.   For those hearing about this for the first time: Signapse's photorealistic Digital Signer translates spoken content into sign language. G&L integrates the technology directly into live and on-demand workflows, contributing AI-powered transcription pipelines that provide high-quality text as the foundation for the digital signer.   A huge thank you to IAMT (formerly IABM) for this recognition, and to our fellow nominees Sony and LOGIC media solutions for the strong competition! Proud to see the work we did at the SVTA QoE Working Group come to life on the NAB Show floor: CMSD-MQA for Automated Encoding Pipeline Switching is live on demo at the SVTA Innovation Showcase booth C4449-E. Together with Akamai Technologies, Norsk and Touchstream, we have been working on how to use Common Media Server Data (CMSD) and Media Quality Assessment (MQA) in a streaming workflow for automated encoding pipeline switching based on Video Quality Assessment (VQA). Alexander Leschinsky has been part of this work from the beginning, co-presenting the spec with Will Law, Adrian Roe and Brenton Ough, first in our workshop in December, then at Mile-High Video in Denver.
