Imagine a law to save more than 30,000 American lives and millions of hospital visits annually, while empowering disabled and older Americans. Congress now has the chance to do what China, Europe, and Japan began years ago: create a national law enabling self-driving cars nationwide. Read more in my latest op ed: https://lnkd.in/eGupJKy3

The German automotive industry is increasingly caught in the crossfire of transatlantic relations. My view in the Financial Times: Stefan Bratzel, head of the Center of Automotive Management think-tank, said higher tariffs would make the price of German cars in the US “prohibitive”. “Transatlantic relations are developing into a major stress test for the German automotive industry,” he said. A company that is a state champion being used to hollow out Western industry files 52 patents per working day in order to compete in a global IP system that it ignores for others. Dominance through IP theft and state subsidy needs to be dealt with, none of what has led to this is because of free trade ! https://lnkd.in/gNhgW9gV

We keep talking about “the economy” through the lens of business and growth. But what ultimately determines whether an economy is working is much more basic—whether people can afford to live and get ahead. That’s what’s coming through clearly in how many Latino voters are responding right now.
What’s driving Xavier Becerra’s surge in the polls in California Governors race? That’s the question I wanted to answer when none of the polls were showing it would happen. What I discovered was fascinating. Take a look:

Follow‑up to last post: the Federal Circuit has now dismissed the appeal in BMW v. Onesta, leaving Judge Albright’s anti‑suit injunction fully intact. Whatever momentum exists in Europe post‑BSH v. Electrolux, U.S. courts continue to send a clear message when U.S. patents are litigated abroad: not today. #IntellectualProperty #CrossBorderLitigation #FederalCircuit #PatentLaw

The debate over freedom of speech has become one of the defining issues of our time. Across Australia, people are increasingly asking whether free speech in Australia is being eroded by regulation, cultural pressure and corporate control. In Victoria, new anti-vilification laws pose a threat to freedom of speech. The Libertarian Party of Victoria believes this concern is well founded. The principles of freedom of speech, freedom of expression and open debate are under pressure from multiple directions. If these freedoms are weakened, the consequences extend far beyond politics. They affect truth, accountability, innovation and the ability of individuals to live freely. https://lnkd.in/gYNE2ca6

Coming Soon | Chairman Moolenaar and Congresswoman Debbie Dingell will introduce bipartisan legislation to keep Chinese-connected vehicles off America’s roads. These “smart cars” collect vast amounts of sensitive data, from location to infrastructure, and pose serious national security risks. This bipartisan house bill will mirror Senator Bernie Moreno and Senator Elissa Slotkin's Connected Vehicle Security Act of 2026 and takes decisive action to protect American workers, industry, and security. https://lnkd.in/eY3ww4kh
